McCarthy Statement on Latest Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) issued the following statement regarding the latest employment figures released by the U.S. Department of Labor:

“This morning’s unemployment report is just the latest in a litany of disappointing economic news resulting from President Obama’s disastrous economic policies. The report reinforces the need for President Obama and Congressional Democrats to step up to the plate, and join with House Republicans to put forward a long-term economic plan that tackles our debt and creates jobs. We must lower tax rates, remove unnecessary federal regulations, pass the three pending Free Trade Agreements and produce more domestic energy. These are critical to getting people back to work.  Washington Democrats haven’t passed a budget in more than two years, and have expressed no interest in producing a plan to get people back to work. Now is a time for action, not political posturing.”
