McCarthy Statement In Remembrance of the Tucson Tragedy

Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) released the following statement in remembrance of the tragedy that took place in Tucson, Arizona one year ago:

“One year ago today, on a day that was meant to be a celebration of our freedom as Americans, we watched in horror as we learned of the shooting of nineteen people in Tucson, Arizona – including our colleague Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords. Over the last year we have found inspiration in the fighting spirit and strength that Gabby and Mark have shown through her remarkable recovery. Today, Judy and I join with all Americans in remembering those who lost their lives in such a senseless act of violence that day, and offer our prayers to their families and loved ones.”
