McCarthy: The Absence Of A Budget By Senate Democrats Is A Metaphor For Their Leadership
Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) gave the following remarks at a weekly House Republican leadership press conference:
“As the Speaker and Leader said, there is a great contrast that you will find this week. One is the contrast of the JOBS Act that is bipartisan. It is not government borrowing more – it’s emphasizing small business and job growth. This empowers people to actually create jobs, which lies at the heart of what America needs.
“The other comparison is that the American people expect for Washington to have the power of the idea. That is, to have a debate on both sides and put forth all ideas.
“This week we’ll produce a budget. This budget will be pro-growth and will get us out of the malaise of where we sit and will unshackle what holds us back. I’d love to sit here and debate the differences between our budget and the Senate’s, but for the third year in a row there is no budget from the Senate.”
