McCarthy Statement on the President’s Signing of the JOBS Act

Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) released the following statement on President Obama’s signing of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act that will empower small businesses and startup companies to grow and hire:

“The Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, a key provision of the House Republicans’ Plan for America’s Job Creators, provides new and innovative tools to entrepreneurial startups and small businesses to grow and hire new workers. The President’s signing of the JOBS Act will help reverse the current decline in new startup and small business growth – new business startups are currently at a 30 year low.

“Included in the JOBS Act is legislation I authored, the Access to Capital for Job Creators Act, that repeals an outdated Securities & Exchange Commission regulation that limits entrepreneurial and small business capital formation. Accessing needed capital is essential for small businesses to grow and hire new workers. I applaud the President for working with House Republicans on this crucial jobs bill, and look forward to future bipartisan work on legislation to empower our entrepreneurs and small businesses.”
