McCarthy Statement on House Resolution in Support of France

Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the House of Representatives’ consideration of legislation condemning the recent terrorist attacks in Paris that resulted in the deaths of 17 innocent persons and offering condolences to those personally affected by this cowardly act:

“The terrorist attacks in Paris still haunt us, and the United States continues to send its prayers and support to the French people. We stand with France in our commitment to keep our countries secure and defend the fundamental principles of our democratic societies. Next week, the House will consider a resolution condemning the terrorist attacks in Paris and offering our condolences to those affected by this inhumane act, which is a horrifying reminder of the continuing need to confront the growing global threat posed by radical Islamist terrorism. In trying times like these, the United States reaffirms its friendship with France and our joint efforts to fight terrorism.”
