As Senate Passes Keystone, President Should Reconsider Veto Threat

Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on Senate passage of a bill to approve the Keystone XL pipeline:

“Today, the Senate took a good step forward by passing a bill to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. After years of delay from the Obama Administration, the new American Congress has shown that it will move forward on the people’s priorities. I applaud Senator McConnell’s leadership in getting this bill through the Senate. As the House looks forward to reviewing this legislation and sending it to the President’s desk, I urge the President to reconsider his veto threat and to not obstruct the people’s priorities.”
