House’s Record of Success in First 100 Days Signals Bright Future Ahead
Washington D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) spoke today at a Republican leadership press conference about the House’s record of success in the first 100 days of the 114th Congress.
McCarthy’s full remarks are below, or watch them online here.
“This week will mark the first time in six years we’ll pass a bicameral budget and also the earliest start to the appropriations process since 1974.
“When you look at the first 100 days—the passage of SGR, TRIA, and a number of other bills—you look to what the future holds from the 21st Century Cures to the markup in DOD on the change, which we’ll see in defense, we have a very bright future that’s moving inside this Congress.
“If you take the metrics, as I’ve laid out for many of you before, this is actually the second most productive Congress for Republicans in modern history. We continue to be on the path to actually move and create jobs as we move forward.
“I look forward to moving the appropriations bills this week and also bringing up Waters of the U.S. and dealing with future issues as we move forward.”
