This week, Congress returns to Washington for the start of the second session of the 114th Congress. House Republicans will immediately set a tone that represents a better path for our country by sending the President a bill that repeals Obamacare and defunds Planned Parenthood while providing additional funding for community health centers to ensure women continue to have access to quality care.

President Obama has consistently avoided facing the failures of Obamacare, claiming that the law is working even as co-ops are crumbling, coverage is being dropped, and premiums keep going up. Passing and sending an Obamacare repeal to the President’s desk will set America up for a new patient-centered healthcare system that gives families the power over their healthcare decisions instead of Washington bureaucrats. It also shows that House Republicans remain committed to policy solutions that help the American people achieve greater freedom over their lives despite continued obstruction by Democrats in Washington.

While the President has ignored the perils of his failed health law, he has also turned a blind eye to the moral crisis of government supporting the abortion industry. In fact, the White House wouldn’t even say if President Obama had seen the horrific videos of Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of infant body parts.

Taxpayer dollars should not support any organization that performs abortions, much less one with such a callous disregard for human life as these videos have shown. This bill will stop taxpayer dollars from going to abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, as the House continues to investigate allegations of the horrific harvesting of children’s organs and the handling of infant lives.

Obamacare is a failure and taxpayer funding of abortion providers is wrong.  With this bill, we will force President Obama to show the American people where he stands. Does he support freedom in healthcare and the conscience rights of the American people? Or does he want to continue battering people with his failed healthcare law and forcing taxpayers to support an organization with a corrupt moral compass? Congress is making its choice clear.
