Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) spoke at a House leadership press conference this morning on the House and President’s work to overcome America’s biggest challenges.

“Good morning, and as the Speaker talked about, we are looking forward to hearing the President. We look forward to hearing an optimistic approach to the future. We have lots of challenges. We have already begun that work, though. As you watch on the floor this week, we’ll continue with regulatory reform, getting common sense back into regulation, getting our business working again. But as we look to the future, we look to health care, we look to tax reform, but we also look to the future of the workforce because the students today—65% of them—the jobs that they will work in have not even yet existed. So we’ve got to look to innovation, we’ve got to look to transformation for where we go. These are all things that we hope the President will talk about—that we can bind together Republicans, Democrats in the House and the Senate to find that we build a better America, united for all.”
