Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 1864, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act:

“Of the 105,000 children in America who are victims of sex trafficking, 70% were traded, bought, sold, and advertised online. The Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking grants law enforcement and families the ability to shut down these online marketplaces and hold their enablers accountable. I applaud Representatives Ann Wagner (MI-02) and Mimi Walters (CA-45) for their collaborative efforts to end the scourge of sex trafficking that too freely operates in the darkest corners of the internet. This Congress will continue the long fight to end human trafficking and support the victims of this monstrous crime.”
