Americans Know Republicans Are Increasing Their Health Care Costs

Premiums are expected to rise, and Americans know exactly who is to blame. New polling, released today from Public Policy Polling, asked Americans in six states who is to blame for rate increases and the majority agreed that Congressional Republicans and the Trump Administration’s actions to sabotage the Affordable Care Act are responsible for increasing health care costs. Take a look:
 
“Six new Public Policy Polling surveys in battleground states find voters will blame Republicans for the expected health care premium increases this summer by approximately 30 points and voters believe Republicans and President Trump have been actively undermining and sabotaging the Affordable Care Act.”
 
Arizona:
  • 55% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A plurality of voters (49%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.
  • A majority of independent voters (57%) also say they agree with that statement.
Indiana:
  • 49% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A plurality of voters (48%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.  
  • A plurality of independent voters (44%) also say they agree with that statement.
Missouri:
  • 59% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A plurality of voters (47%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.
  • Half of independent voters (50%) also say they agree with that statement.
Montana:
  • 55% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A plurality of voters (47%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.
  • A majority of independent voters (52%) also say they agree with that statement.
Nevada:
  • 56% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A majority of voters (55%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.
  • A majority of independent voters (59%) also say they agree with that statement.
Wisconsin:
  • 59% say they will hold Republicans in Washington responsible if rates increase.
  • A majority of voters (53%) say they believe Congressional Republicans and President Trump have been trying to undermine and sabotage the ACA.
  • Half of independent voters (50%) also say they agree with that statement.
