The Communications Director will manage all communications and social media functions, including developing short- and long-term communications plans, responding to daily media inquiries, maintaining relationships with reporters, writing and distributing press releases and advisories, creating and managing social media content, including graphics and videos, preparing speeches, talking points, and op-eds, and creating Franked communications such as outreach emails and mailers. The Communications Director will work directly with the Chief of Staff, District Director, and Legislative Director to carry out the Member’s priorities and communicate them to New Jersey constituents, plan and implement in-district events, and effectively message policy issues. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and have an excellent understanding of all digital platforms.
