Dear Colleague:
I hope you've had a productive work period in your districts this past week and a meaningful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
Next week, the House will consider H.R. 2534, the Insider Trading Prohibition Act, which will help protect the hard-earned savings of Americans. The House will also consider a resolution reaffirming the United States' commitment to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and reaffirming our nation's commitment to Israel's security. In addition, the House will take up the Pallone-Thune TRACED Act under suspension of the rules. This legislation to combat robocalls merges bills passed by the House and the Senate earlier this year.
Over the rest of the December work period, I expect the House to consider H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, to address the rising cost of prescription drugs and H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore our democracy and ensure that every American can exercise their right to vote. I also expect the National Defense Authorization Act conference report to be completed and brought to the Floor for a vote.
After last week's enactment of a continuing resolution, Congress has through December 20th  to fund the government for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2020. It is imperative that we work together to reach agreement and enact all 12 appropriations bills before this date to provide certainty that the government will remain open and working on behalf of our constituents.
As the House continues to conduct important work for the people, the impeachment inquiry will begin its next phase with the Judiciary Committee holding a hearing next Wednesday, December 4. We will uphold our oath of office to defend the Constitution, and we will follow the facts where they lead.
With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
House Majority Leader
