Defense and Foreign Policy Advisor

Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06) is seeking an experienced and energetic MLA to manage his work on the Armed Services Committee and oversee a portfolio including defense, foreign affairs, intelligence, and homeland security. Candidates must share the office’s mission “to serve, and inspire others to serve, in order to improve people’s lives and strengthen our democracy.”  This is not an entry-level position; a graduate degree, strong knowledge of national security issues, and a minimum of three years of substantive legislative or related experience are required.  


Responsibilities include advancing the Congressman’s priorities, liaising with committee staff, administration officials, outside advocacy groups, businesses and others. Candidates should be well versed in staffing a principal in a fast-paced environment, concise memo writing, preparing hearing questions, assisting in drafting public statements, developing legislation, monitoring national security issues of relevance, and cultivating relationships with relevant stakeholders.
