Democratic Elections Counsel

The Committee on House Administration Committee seeks an attorney to serve as Democratic Elections Counsel. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, monitoring and managing legislation, preparing for hearings;
  • Writing memos, speeches, and talking points;
  • Planning legislative and oversight strategy; and
  • Coalition building.

Policy or legal experience required, Hill experience preferred.  Experience with campaign finance and ballot access issues is strongly preferred.  Interested applicants should have a record of being proactive and demonstrating initiative. The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work independently as well as within a team, and outstanding oral and written communication skills.  Ideal candidates must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. J.D. is required.
