The Chair and Co-Chairs of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) seek an experienced Executive Director to lead a dynamic team to execute a proactive, aggressive messaging strategy. The DPCC Executive Director manages a team that pitches stories and press events to national media outlets; responds to media inquiries; maintains a robust digital profile; and drafts press releases, op-eds, speeches, talking points and other materials.

Successful candidates should have previous experience working directly with Members of Congress. They should have a thorough knowledge of the legislative process and have a keen understanding of the various components, priorities, and values of the House Democratic Caucus. They should be creative, possessing the vision to help construct a communications blueprint that will advance long-term objectives. Candidates should be energetic, organized, politically astute and able to collaborate with others in a tight-knit, fast-paced environment. They should have strong national press relationships and verbal on-the-record experience. They should also have experience managing others and have impeccable communications skills.

This is a senior-level leadership position that requires a strong work ethic, total dedication, and close attention to detail. Non-traditional work hours are expected.  The position will report directly to the four Chair and Co-Chairs and work collaboratively with their staff and other leadership staff.
