The Chair and Co-Chairs of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) seek a Press Advisor to join a small, dynamic team to help design and execute a proactive, aggressive messaging strategy. Responsibilities include organizing floor messaging opportunities, coordinating weekly message meetings, planning district message events, and drafting press releases, op-eds, speeches, talking points and other materials. Position will also be responsible for a variety of digital tasks and projects so candidates with digital experience strongly preferred.
Ideal candidates will have previous experience working directly with Members of Congress or senior political principals. They should have knowledge of the legislative process and have a keen understanding of the various components, priorities, and values of the House Democratic Caucus. They should be creative, possessing the vision to help construct a communications blueprint that will advance long-term objectives. Candidates should be energetic, organized, politically astute and able to collaborate with others in a tight-knit, fast-paced environment. They should have campaign or Hill experience and impeccable communications skills.
This is a leadership position that requires a strong work ethic, total dedication, and close attention to detail. Non-traditional work hours are expected. The position will report directly to the executive director of the DPCC and work collaboratively with co-chair staff and other leadership staff.
