Floor Update: Apr 3, 2019 - 8:46 am
Today, the House meets at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business and will recess immediately.  There will be no “One Minutes.”

At approximately 10:40 a.m. the House will reconvene, for the purpose of receiving, in a Joint Meeting with the Senate, His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

**Members are advised that they should be on the Floor and seated no later than 10:30 a.m.

At the conclusion of the Joint Meeting, the House will recess subject to the call of the Chair in order to clear the Chamber.

Following the recess, the House will reconvene and debate the Rule providing for consideration of H.R. 1585 – Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2019.  After debate on the Rule, the House will take votes.

Following votes on the Rule, the House will begin one hour of general debate on H.R. 1585.  After general debate, the House will begin debate on amendments to H.R. 1585. 

Following debate on some amendments, the House will take votes.  These will be the last votes for the day.

Next votes predicted: approximately 1:30 – 1:45 p.m., on the Rule for H.R. 1585 and passage of H.Res. 217 – Condemning the Trump Administration’s Legal Campaign to Take Away Americans’ Health Care.

**Members are advised that following last votes, the House will continue consideration of amendments to H.R. 1585.  Members should be prepared to offer their amendment at the appropriate time today.
