Schedule for the Week of April 1, 2019
as announced by Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer
"On Monday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for Morning Hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business.
On Wednesday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. and recess immediately. The House will reconvene at approximately 11:00 a.m. for the purpose of receiving, in a Joint Meeting with the Senate, His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Members are advised to be on the House Floor and seated no later than 10:30 a.m. for the Joint Meeting.
On Thursday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business. Last votes of the week are expected no later than 3:00 p.m.
The House will consider several bills under suspension of the Rules. The complete list of suspension bills will be announced by the close of business tomorrow.
The House will also consider H.R. 1585, Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2019, sponsored by Rep. Karen Bass, a bill that responds to our nation’s crisis of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. VAWA officially expired on September 30, 2018, making it overdue for the House to consider a long-term reauthorization of this legislation.
