Floor Update: Dec 6, 2019 - 2:35 pm
Schedule for the Week of December 9, 2019
as announced by Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer
"On Monday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for Morning Hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business.

On Thursday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business.  Members are advised that votes on Thursday could occur later than usual, but last votes of the week are expected no later than 3:00 p.m.

We will consider several bills under Suspension of the Rules.  The complete list of suspension bills will be announced by the close of business today.

The House will consider H.R. 3, The Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act.  This legislation will work to lower prescription drug costs for American seniors and families by giving Medicare the power to negotiate directly with drug companies and make the lower prices negotiated by Medicare available to Americans with private insurance.  The bill reinvests in Medicare, delivering vision, dental, and hearing benefits.  Last year, House Democrats promised to lower health care costs by lowering the price of prescription drugs For The People, and we are proud to deliver on that promise.

In addition, the House will consider H.R. 729, The Coastal and Great Lakes Communities Enhancement Act.  This bill is a package of bipartisan legislation that protects vulnerable coastal and Great Lakes communities impacted by the climate crisis.

It is also possible that the House will consider the Fiscal Year 2020 NDAA Conference Report.

Lastly, additional legislative items are possible."
