Job Announcement -- District Digital Press Assistant

Digital Press Assistant Opening:

The Office of Congressman Paul Tonko seeks an energetic, organized, and creative Digital Press Assistant for his Albany, NY district office. The position will support an active communications team with high-quality digital engagement, video and graphic development, policy related writing, messaging and local media relations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, drafting social content, producing graphics and videos, photography, speech writing, media outreach, and staffing support for district events, including some planning and messaging. This position involves long hours, nights and weekends and may also be responsible for answering phones, drafting letters on behalf of the Member, and other tasks as needed.

Candidates must be excellent writers, have a passion for public service, demonstrated interest in digital media work, excellent organizational skills, and have an ability to manage multiple competing tasks even on short deadlines. Capital Region ties and public relations experience are preferred, along with a positive attitude, can do spirit, and creative approach to the role.
