Doesn’t look great for President Trump and Congressional Republicans as they refuse to reopen government and end the Trump shutdown.

Washington Post/ABC Poll: “By a wide margin, more Americans blame President Trump and Republicans in Congress than congressional Democrats for the now record-breaking government shutdown, and most reject the president’s assertion that there is an illegal-immigration crisis on the southern border…”
  • 53% of Americans say President Trump and the Republicans are to blame for the shutdown.  
  • By more than 2-1 (66% to 31%), Americans oppose President Trump invoking an emergency to build a border wall.

CNN Poll: “Amid the longest government shutdown in US history, a majority say Donald Trump bears more responsibility for it than the Democrats in Congress, and the President's disapproval rating has climbed five points since last month...”
  • 55% of the public blame President Trump for the shutdown.
  • The President's approval rating stands at 37% approve to 57% disapprove, with disapproval rising by five points since December.
Quinnipiac Poll:American voters support 63 – 30% a Democratic proposal to reopen parts of the government that do not involve border security while negotiating funding for the Wall… American voters are negative in every question about the wall…”
  • 56% of American voters say President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are responsible for the shutdown.
  • 59% say that a border wall is not a good use of taxpayer dollars.
  • 55% say that a border wall would not make the U.S. safer.
  • 59 % say that a border wall is not necessary to protect the border.
  • 52% say that a border wall is against American values.

  • About 7-in-10 Americans say the government shutdown is going to hurt the country.
  • 51% of Americans said President Trump "deserves most of the blame."
Rasmussen Poll: The President’s approval rating has fallen by 6 points since the shutdown began to 43%, the lowest since January 2018 – a year ago.

After the President made comments like these, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the majority of Americans are holding him responsible for the Trump shutdown.
