Legislative Assistant

Congressman Mike Quigley (IL-05), who serves as Chairman of the Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Subcommittee on Appropriations, is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, and industrious Legislative Assistant to manage FSGG Appropriations Subcommittee work, as well as an economic policy portfolio that includes, but is not limited to, financial services, tax, budget, trade, and labor. The primary responsibilities of the position include introducing and advancing legislation, staffing the Member in meetings and Committee hearings/markups, drafting talking points and speeches, tracking legislation, and assisting with constituent correspondence. A thorough understanding of the appropriations process is required. Strong writing, organization, oral communication, and collaborative work skills are essential. This is not an entry level position. Applicants should have 3-5 years of experience, ideally with 2-3 on the Hill. Chicago ties a plus.
