Legislative Assistant Opening

Congressman André Carson, Chairman of the House Intelligence Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation, seeks an experienced Legislative Assistant to support his work on the Intelligence Committee, as well as a portfolio including defense, foreign affairs, and homeland security issues. Candidate must be proficient at advancing legislation, analyzing and briefing on complex policy issues, and drafting a wide array of written materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical. Ideal candidates will have experience as a Legislative Assistant handling defense or foreign affairs for a Member of a national security committee. This is not an entry level position and interns will not be considered. An active Top Secret security clearance is required.
