Paid Internship (Rep. Slotkin)

U.S. Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) is now accepting applications for fall internships in her Washington, DC Office.  

Interns in Rep. Slotkin’s office are compensated with monthly stipends, unless they are sponsored by an outside organization or are planning to receive academic credit for the internship.”

Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM while Congress is in session and 9:00 AM – 5:00PM while Congress is out of session.

Intern responsibilities in the Washington, D.C. office will include: 

  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling and leading Capitol tours
  • Sorting mail 
  • Researching legislation 
  • Attending briefings and hearings
  • Administrative work and other tasks as assigned

Interns will work with staff to serve the constituents of Michigan’s 8th Congressional district. Our goal is to provide each intern with a meaningful experience that will enhance their understanding of the legislative process.
