Scheduler / Executive Assistant

Progressive West Coast Democrat seeks a well-organized, detail oriented, and energetic self- starter for the position of Scheduler/Executive Assistant. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, is highly motivated, has a sharp sense of humor, and has the ability to keep calm while under pressure in an oftentimes hectic and unpredictable environment. Qualified applicants are comfortable keeping a complex schedule, making quick decisions, solving problems on the fly, and effectively relaying scheduling changes to the Member, staff and outside groups in a timely manner. Furthermore, the scheduler must be willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends, in conjunction with the Congressional schedule. It is imperative the scheduler be professional, friendly, firm, and gracious with those who interact with the office. Responsibilities include developing, coordinating, and managing all aspects of the Member’s daily and long-term DC, state, and national schedule. This would involve booking travel to and from the district; tracking, evaluating and responding to invitations and scheduling requests; managing logistics for events; and keeping the Member on schedule throughout the day. The scheduler will work closely with the Member, Chief of Staff, Communications Director and District Director to ensure a seamless operation. This is not an entry-level position. Qualified candidates should possess 2-4 years of substantive experience in fast-paced operational roles, either as a scheduler or executive assistant.
