Congressman Jared Huffman is seeking a scheduler / executive assistant for his D.C. office. In this role, you'd be responsible for the Congressman's D.C. schedule by making travel and meeting arrangements while anticipating and responding to day-to-day developments. You would serve as the office's primary point of contact for constituents, elected officials, and nonprofit and advocacy organizations, coordinate with our DC and California teams (including legislative, committee, press, and campaign) to identify priorities, and then work independently to make short- and long-term scheduling decisions. In addition, you would be working directly with the Congressman, the staff, and his family, as we juggle the various demands -- work, travel, and personal -- on a busy Member of Congress. Congressman Huffman serves as the Chair of the Natural Resources Committee’s Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittee, and also serves on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. You'll have the opportunity to move into a larger strategic role over time, creating and developing long-term plans and events that advance the Congressman's district and national agenda.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of scheduling experience; this is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with experience working in a fast-paced office, who can maintain a professional and cheerful demeanor while managing multiple and competing tasks and projects, and who has demonstrated the professionalism and discretion necessary for a job that requires a high level of trust and confidentiality. If this sounds like a job for you, please send your resume, a cover letter, and references to huffmanjobs+EA@gmail.com.
