Congressman David Trone (MD-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, is seeking a strong writer with a sense of humor to serve as a Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant in a fast-paced and highly collaborative Capitol Hill office. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining a high-volume constituent correspondence system and responding to constituent letters in a timely manner. In addition, the candidate will handle tour and flag requests and manage front office activities. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing constituent response letters, organizing incoming correspondence, and compiling weekly mail reports that include mail volume and processing statistics and policy issues raised in incoming constituent mail. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the press operation in the office, including drafting talking points and speeches.

The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work under tight deadlines and in a dynamic work environment.
