The Office of Rep. Lou Correa seeks a legislative director. This is NOT an entry level position. Minimum of two years as a House LA required. Experience staffing on the Judiciary, Homeland Security, or Agriculture Committees preferred but not required. Must understand House Floor.

Responsibilities

  • strategize legislative agenda

  • develop bill ideas

  • advance legislative priorities

  • staff Member at Committee hearings & markups

  • manage LAs

  • work with the Communications Director and District Staff for outreach on legislative ideas

  • meet with outside organizations and constituents

  • prepare briefing materials for Committees and Floor

  • maintain records of votes, policy positions, and legislative accomplishments
