Senior Legislative Assistant:  A progressive Texas Democrat seeks experienced candidates for a senior legislative assistant position to handle a diverse portfolio of policy issues. Ideal candidates would be responsible for handling the Member’s work on the House Armed Services Committee, foreign affairs, national security, her leadership position on the Democratic Women’s Caucus and additional legislative issues as assigned, including Women’s rights, LGBTQ issues, and Tribal issues. Responsibilities include staffing the Member, monitoring committee and floor activities, advancing legislative initiatives, and representing the office at events and in meetings.  Qualified candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, over three years of legislative experience, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. Texas ties, Spanish language skills, active security clearance and an advanced degree are a plus.
