Legislative Assistant

Congressman Kurt Schrader (OR-05), a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and senior member of the Blue Dog Coalition, is seeking an experienced Legislative Assistant to cover a policy portfolio with a primary focus on the Congressman’s work on the Energy and Communications & Technology Subcommittees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and drafting legislation, advancing legislative priorities, communicating with stakeholders and constituents, and staffing the Member in meetings and Committee activities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses excellent research, writing, and communication skills, works well under pressure, and demonstrates the ability to multitask and work collaboratively with DC and district staff. This is not an entry level position; only candidates with prior Capitol Hill experience and proven knowledge of legislative and political processes will be considered.
