Legislative Correspondent (Rep. Panetta)

Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) seeks a motivated and conscientious writer to serve as Legislative Correspondent in his Washington, D.C. office.  Responsibilities include managing an active constituent correspondence system, research and drafting all constituent correspondence, ensuring rapid response times, managing constituent mail and outreach databases, compiling weekly mail reports, and carrying out other duties as assigned.   

The ideal candidate must possess outstanding writing and oral communications skills, including the ability to write succinctly and desire to give attention to every single word written, be able to work under tight deadlines, be detail oriented and highly organized, and have a comfort level working up and down the management structure to ensure timely mail responses.  Previous legislative experience and knowledge of Intranet Quorum (IQ) are preferred.  California-20 ties are a plus.
