Senior Legislative Assistant

Representative Robin Kelly seeks a Senior Legislative Assistant  to aid the Congresswoman’s service as a Member of the Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee and Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust. Responsibilities include preparing the Congresswoman for Committee hearings; developing and planning legislative initiatives; monitoring legislative developments in-portfolio within committees and on the House floor; planning and organizing Caucus and Braintrust briefings and other events; and other assigned tasks.   • A demonstrated understanding of public health and health care policy (with focus on health equity and social determinants of health);

  • Knowledge of the bill and amendment introduction process;

  • Strong writing, interpersonal, self-motivation, and organizational skills are a must;

  • Illinois or Midwestern ties are a plus.


This is not an entry level position. 2-4 years of experience required. Previous health policy experience required.
