Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant.

The office of Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-02) is seeking a highly-organized, hardworking, and detail-oriented Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant based out of our Washington D.C. office (currently remotely executed). The LC/SA would report directly to the Legislative Director and work with the District Director, Scheduler, and other staff as needed to carry out operations.

Strong candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail. The job requires an individual who can communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and work effectively with different teams. Additionally, this position requires an individual who is quick to learn and can easily troubleshoot/resolve problems.

The individual will assume the responsibilities of drafting constituent letters, sorting and batching mail, and assisting the legislative staff with various projects. Management of the mail program will include answering constituent correspondence quickly and efficiently, conducting any research necessary to formulate a response, and drafting and updating response letters to respond to a large number of letters on the same issue. Further, the individual will also be responsible for managing the front office, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, processing flag and tour requests, overseeing the intern program and supervising interns, and providing support to the Congresswoman and staff as needed.  

Applicants must have superior organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Arizona ties are highly encouraged but not required.
