Staff Assistant

Congressman Alan Lowenthal (CA-47) seeks a detail-oriented and energetic individual with excellent communication skills for a staff assistant opening. This position is currently in full telework, but will be based in our Washington, D.C. office when in-person work resumes.

Daily tasks include answering telephone calls, organizing tours, processing flag requests, supervising and coordinating our office intern program, managing the front office, greeting visitors (when the office reopens), performing special projects, and other administrative duties. The Staff Assistant will also play a role in an active constituent mail program.

Excellent writing, verbal, and organizational skills are essential along with the ability to be a self-starter while working in a fast-paced environment. Ties to Southern California and Capitol Hill experience are a plus. A sense of humor is greatly appreciated.
