District Outreach/ Social Media Assistant

Senior Democratic Appropriator seeks Outreach/ Social Media Assistant playing a pivotal role in two areas – district outreach and social media communication to support the Member’s work throughout the Congressional district.  Experience in social media and outreach is desired. Applicant should have knowledge of Connecticut and possess strong written and oral communications skills with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks.  This position acts as a liaison to district local agencies, organizations, and advocacy groups to bring their concerns to the Member and help to implement solutions. The Outreach position also regularly updates these groups on legislative measures and actions and proactively develops programs to work with these constituencies to address their needs.  As Social Media Assistant, the position works with other related staff to plan, organize, and execute the offices social media strategy and content.  The O/SMA acts as the local press assistant for local press events in the district in which the Member participates. Finally, the position may require representation of  the Member at certain events.

Please note this job is located in Connecticut and accepting the position will require residing in CT and working out of the Member’s district office location under CDC guidelines.
