Analyst for Congressional Committee – The House Budget Committee seeks an experienced budget analyst for income security, commerce, and housing policy portfolios. The job requires strong skills in written and oral communication, policy analysis, and quantitative analysis, as well as the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in federal budgeting, familiarity with the legislative process, background in income security (e.g. unemployment insurance, nutrition assistance, and rental assistance), commerce (e.g. small business support), or federal housing programs, and a master’s degree in public policy or related field. Experience at OMB, CBO, or an agency budget office is a plus. The ability to be a quick learner and be adaptable as circumstances change is at least as important as depth of subject matter expertise.
