Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant

Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant: Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) is seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and well-organized individual to serve in the dual role of Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant. This job requires excellent oral and written communications skills, a strong attention to detail, an ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously, and an enthusiasm for leadership.

This individual will manage the constituent mail program, including monitoring the flow of incoming and outgoing mail, keeping the constituent database current, responding to all constituent correspondence, and working with the legislative staff to maintain a proactive constituent outreach operation.

Additional daily tasks include answering the office phones, conducting and organizing tours, processing flag requests, greeting visitors, managing interns’ priorities and development, and supporting the Member and staff as needed. Limited driving duties will also be required.
