The Office of Congressman Greg Stanton (AZ-09) is seeking a highly motivated legislative assistant to handle a diverse portfolio of issues, including: health care, education, trade, defense and veterans. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing legislative proposals and strategy; preparing memos, floor statements and remarks; generating non-legislative initiatives and in-district event ideas to advance the Congressman’s priorities, and representing him at events and in meetings with constituents and outside groups. Hill experience or equivalent issue experience strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should have strong written and oral communications skills, sound political judgement, and solid interpersonal skills. Additionally, candidates should be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and be a self-starter with a track record of delivering results.
