Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-TX) is seeking an innovative and hardworking Digital Press Assistant for her Washington, D.C. office to help support her communications strategy. This position will report to the Communications and Special Projects Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting implementation of media and digital communications strategies for Congresswoman Escobar.
Creating high-quality graphics, editing photos and videos, and supporting management of Congresswoman Escobar’s website and digital platforms.
Drafting press releases, advisories, social media posts, talking points, video scripts, speeches, newsletters, surveys, and other written materials.
Assisting with production needs surrounding virtual and in-person town hall meetings, public forums, and press conferences.
Conducting media research and building issue-focused media lists.
Monitoring social media and publications for breaking news.
The ideal candidate is a team player with initiative and creativity and a positive approach to a busy and fast-paced work environment.
Experience working in Capitol Hill or political campaigns.
Excellent strategic communications and demonstrated digital and writing skills.
Experience with graphic design and video editing.
Texas ties and Spanish language skills are a plus.
