The Committee on House Administration majority is seeking an oversight counsel. Applicants must have a J.D. 

Responsibilities include serving as a resource for Democratic Members of the Committee on matters of law and policy; drafting legislation; coordinating hearings and witnesses; preparing Members and their staff for hearings and markups; drafting official Committee statements, memos, and briefing materials; preparing Members to manage bills under floor consideration and collaborating with other House offices. 

Exceptional research and writing skills, sound political judgment, and the ability to work closely and collaboratively with other congressional offices and stakeholders are essential.  This includes interfacing with other standing Committees of the House, Select Committees, and other government agencies. Though not required, the ideal candidate will have Capitol Hill experience and a familiarity with House committee and floor procedure. The ideal candidate will also have investigative experience and possess an active security clearance.
