Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ-07) is seeking an experienced Communications Director or Press Secretary to serve in his Washington, D.C. office. Position title and salary negotiable depending on experience.
Candidates must be assertive, reliable, well-organized, possess strong writing skills and have a good sense of humor. No wallflowers or potted plants. They will operate in a fast-paced office under strict deadlines and work collaboratively with DC and district staff. Ideal candidates should have at least three years of political or policy-based communications experience (Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred), extensive national media and constituency media contacts, experience managing social media accounts, a background working with print and digital media, and experience working with TV bookers. This position will manage a D.C.-based Press Assistant.
Candidates with ties to Phoenix and/or knowledge of Arizona media markets/politics are especially encouraged to apply. Spanish-speaking applicants are also highly encouraged to apply.
