Legislative Correspondent

Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (VA-10), a member of the Appropriations Committee and the Budget Committee, is seeking a highly-motivated Legislative Correspondent for her Washington, DC office.

This position is responsible for managing a high-volume constituent mail program which will include monitoring incoming and outgoing mail; drafting responses and responding to constituents in a timely manner; conducting legislative research; and working with the legislative, communications, and district staff to support the office’s constituent outreach. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of legislative issues, impeccable writing skills, attention to detail, knowledge of congressional process and procedure, and awareness of Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. A successful candidate will be passionate about public service and the Member’s legislative agenda.

Prior Hill experience is preferred. Virginia and district ties are a plus. Women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, new Americans, and members of other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
