Legislative Assistant

The Office of Congressman Ted Lieu seeks an organized, passionate, team-oriented Legislative Assistant to handle a diverse legislative portfolio.  Ideal candidates will have policy experience, excellent writing skills, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities include: developing legislative initiatives and monitoring legislative developments in Committee and on House floor; drafting and editing correspondence; meeting with constituents and advocacy groups; and drafting talking points, speeches and press releases.  This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, sharp attention to detail, good time management skills, an ability to work under pressure, and a strong sense of humor.
