Legislative Director

Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) seeks an experienced Legislative Director (LD). The LD is responsible for:

  • Advising Congressman Levin on all policy positions, legislation and votes;

  • Coordinating with Legislative Assistants, the Legislative Correspondent, and Legislative Fellows to develop policy positions and ensure that Congressman Levin is prepared for all legislative hearings, markups, and vote series;

  • Overseeing the legislative staff and working in concert with communications, district, and operations staff; and

  • Personally handling Congressman Levin’s active work as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, plus other issue areas to be determined.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least three years of Hill experience as a legislative assistant;

  • A strong understanding of the legislative process;

  • Excellent writing and organizational skills;

  • Impeccable attention to detail;

  • A commitment to bold and progressive policy change; and

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
