Legislative Director

Representative Derek Kilmer (WA-06) seeks a Legislative Director for his Washington, DC team. This individual is responsible for helping to shape and execute Derek’s legislative agenda, mentoring and leading an active legislative team, and working with other members of a highly-collaborative, high-performing senior staff to help deliver wins for our constituents.  

Qualified candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to negotiate and resolve complex problems, experience building relationships within the Democratic caucus and across the aisle, and a positive attitude with a great sense of humor.  Additionally, our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of effectively managing internal and external stakeholders and developing and executing a long-term strategic plan while remaining flexible and adaptive to the often chaotic nature of working in the House. Prior experience working with the Appropriations, Financial Services, and/or Ways & Means Committees is desired.
