Legislative Assistant

Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), a Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Legislative Assistant to handle intelligence, foreign affairs, defense, homeland security, and infrastructure issues.

This is not an entry-level position: the ideal candidate will have previous legislative experience, strong writing skills, an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, a positive attitude, and strong coalition-building skills. While this position is primarily policy-focused, preferred candidates will also have the ability to work collaboratively with press and communications staff. Ideal candidates will possess a sophisticated understanding of issues under the jurisdiction of the House Intelligence Committee.

Responsibilities will include policy research, drafting legislation, and staffing the Congressman for hearings/markups before the House Intelligence Committee.
