Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-02), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Budget Committee, seeks a hard-working and detail-oriented Staff Assistant to work in his Washington, D.C. office.
Ideal candidates will be attentive to detail, have exceptional organizational abilities, possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and should be able to work successfully and efficiently in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Successful candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proactive in anticipating problems and proposing solutions. Successful candidates should be prepared to work some evenings or occasional weekends as needed, particularly during session days/weeks.
Staffing the member in person as needed throughout the Capitol Complex and Washington, DC area, including driving or traveling with the member.
Ensuring that the member has all necessary documents and resources for any and all events, votes or other engagements.
Making sure the member is on time throughout the day for various engagements.
Working with the scheduler to ensure that all calendar entries and documents are in order for the member, and ensuring all DC area travel for the member is organized and prepared ahead of time.
Other member facing tasks, including office administrative duties as needed.
Prior political experience or experience working in a Capitol Hill office experience is strongly preferred. Philadelphia or Pennsylvania ties will be looked favorably upon. All candidates should have a current and valid driver’s license and ready access to a working automobile.
