Press Intern

The office of Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) is seeking a part-time press intern for the Spring 2022 semester. The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills, familiarity with social media, graphic design including Canva, and relevant internship or educational experience related to communications, government, or campaigns. Preference will be given to candidates who have Illinois ties, have completed their first two years of college, and are majoring in fields related to communications and government. Adobe skills are a plus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to compiling press lists and clips, drafting social media posts, creating graphics, drafting press releases and other communications materials, researching various policy issues, assisting with editing videos, and other tasks as needed. Hours are flexible to accommodate students’ course schedules. The intern will work in the D.C. office beginning late January through May, dependent on COVID-19 cases. This is a paid position that reports to the Communications Director.
