Natural Resources/Public Lands Legislative Assistant

The Office of Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01) seeks a hardworking, motivated Legislative Assistant to primarily assist with the public lands portfolio related to the Member’s work on the National Parks, Forests and Public Lands subcommittee within the House Committee on Natural Resources. The primary responsibilities for this position will be leading the Congresswoman’s existing public lands initiatives, identifying new areas for legislative action, and coordinating with other Members and outside stakeholders. Additional duties will be assigned based on experience and office needs. 

This is not an entry level position. Experience working on public lands issues is required, and previous experience working in advocacy and organizing is preferred. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and resilient in the face of a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate is also proactive and comfortable working with diverse staff, community members and constituents.
